Felling Trees like our Grandfathers
Team building in a forest
Working better together. This old saying also proves to be true with this outdoor programme as the participants continuously swap the tasks of sawing and hewing.
The aim is to cut the tree together so it falls in the direction intended. Once this is done, the tree's branches can be cut away using smaller hand saws (optional). After 1.5 to 2 hours the work is done.
Alternatively, it can be arranged that this task is completed with saws only, without the use of axes.
The forester demonstrates and explains how it works. He observes and controls if the participants use the tools correctly and keep the required distance. This way he guarantees their safety.
He also tells how the forest was cultivated in the olden days. Why ownership of forest land once was a lucrative business and how forestry has changed over the years.
After the work is done, the forester offers a brief feedback on team performance.
With all our events safety is paramount. We take every precaution that the guests can’t get harmed during the activity.
During the team-building programme the participants are invited to help themselves from a table with mineral water, soft drinks and a selection of savoury snacks.
Held in any Weather
The forest offers sufficient protection even when it‘s raining or snowing. Wearing appropriate clothing this event is great fun in any weather. In case of bad weather the team-building factor increases and the cooperation improves automatically.
Optionally, we can offer mobile marquees for hire as protection from the elements.
