Cheese making in Toggenburg
Make your own cheese
Under the watchful eyes of the master you produce your cheese on the open fire. In the adjacent modern dairy you make alp cheese, mountain cheese or other products specific to this region. Each participant gets a piece of cheese to take home. You will be treated to refreshments such as coffee, fresh milk, local cheese specialities and bread.
As space in the dairy is limited it is ideal to let the individual groups rotate between various farm activities.
Crossbow shooting
Just the way William Tell once did, you shoot targets with a wooden crossbow.
Chopping wood, nailing and sawing
Work with wood using some unusual tools.
Swiss Traditions
Under expert instructions try to play the alphorn, have a go at flag swinging or play the Swiss accordion. Other traditions such as cracking the whip and 'Talerschwingen' will be a whole new experience for you.
Wine tasting competition
Who's the connoisseur? The participants try to allocate each wine to its country of origin.
