Medieval Games within Historic Walls
Experience the medieval ambiance around the old trusty mill with its august rooms. Step into the role of a villager of the Middle Ages and try to free the miller in a team effort from his predicament.
Costumes are available for all participants. We've not only got tunics in different colours but also a variety of original costumes (for countesses, abigails, lords of the manor, etc). Fortified by a cup of mead you enter a variety of amusing and challenging games.
These activities can also be held in the mill's halls in case of bad weather.
How to free the Miller
Compete in the following disciplines for the freedom of the miller:
- Crossbow shooting
- Archery with an authentic English longbow
- Sword skills: ring rtabbing, pendulum punch, and more
- Make your own knife at the anvil
- Become a fire eater and spew flames
- Throwing the Javelin
- Duel on the Plank of Fate
- Painting shields: Which team has the most beautiful coat of arms?
The Banquet
After successfully freeing the miller from the sheriff’s dungeons a well-deserved feast awaits you. Choose between a sumptuous medieval barbeque and a hearty meal with a spit-roasted piglet as its centrepiece. In the mill's beautiful hall you can celebrate the miller’s newly-won freedom to your heart’s content.
Ambience & decorations
As an option we offer a huge selection of medieval rental equipment, such as large wooden tables and chairs, small tables with stools, crockery, flags, weapons for decoration, candle sticks and holders, etc. 200 tunics and 300 medieval costumes are also available for participants. This way we are able to create a unique ambience anywhere in Switzerland
